Working principle of condenser
The condensing equipment acts as a cold source in the steam turbine thermodynamic cycle to reduce the steam turbine exhaust pressure to improve the thermal efficiency of the cycle. The most effective way to reduce the exhaust pressure of a turbine is to condense the exhaust steam of the turbine into water. Because if the steam is released in a closed container (condenser), the steam with a large volume will be condensed into a small volume of condensed water and assembled at the bottom of the condenser, thus forming a high vacuum in the condenser space originally filled with steam. This is the simple working principle of condensing equipment.
The task of the condensing equipment is
(1) Establish and maintain a high vacuum at the exhaust port of the turbine to improve the thermal efficiency of the cycle.
(2) Condensing the exhaust steam of the turbine into clean condensate as the boiler feed water, and receiving the thermal system.
